About the Healthcare Accessibility WebGIS

This system uses OpenStreetMap data and the OpenRouteService API to calculate street networks and healthcare facilities accessible by foot in specific time intervals from a selected point.

Healthcare accessibility is crucial for urban planning and public health. This tool helps identify areas with good or poor access to medical services, including hospitals, clinics, doctors' offices, and pharmacies.

How to use:

  1. Select a point on the map by clicking on it or search for a specific address
  2. Adjust the walkability criteria according to your preferences
  3. Click on "Calculate Walkability & Healthcare Access" to visualize the network and facilities
  4. Green lines represent streets accessible within 5 minutes of walking
  5. Blue lines represent streets accessible within 15 minutes of walking
  6. Healthcare facilities are marked with specific icons and listed in the panels below the map
  7. Click on any healthcare facility in the list to center the map on that location

This system enables healthcare accessibility analysis, helping identify well-served or underserved areas in terms of medical services within walking distance.
