The Graduate Program in Geography – Spatial Information Treatment at Pontifical Catholic University of Minas Gerais (PUC Minas) boasts over 20 years of excellence in training masters and doctoral professionals. It is recognized as one of Brazil’s leading geography research centers.
With a CAPES evaluation score of 5, the program stands out for its focus on spatial information processing, utilizing innovative methodologies and advanced technologies for the analysis and interpretation of geographic space.
The Department of Geography at PUC Minas has a long tradition in teacher and bachelor training, originally established as part of the Santa Maria Faculty of Sciences and Letters in 1942, and has featured notable faculty and students in Minas Gerais' intellectual community.

GIS (Geographic Information Systems)

Environmental Studies
Application of environmental analysis in mapping, monitoring, and modeling geographic phenomena.

Admissions
Master's in Geography – Spatial Information Treatment
The master's degree lasts 24 months and aims to train highly qualified professionals in spatial information analysis and processing, using innovative methods and advanced technologies.
Requirements:
Undergraduate degree in Geography or related fields
The PhD lasts 48 months and is designed to train high-level researchers able to advance geographical knowledge and develop innovative methodologies in spatial analysis.
